Don’t delay the decision and leave it too late: book your tickets now!
The show has been highly praised by critics around the world and has won many awards for it’s singular approach to the theatrical medium. Nominated for the Tony Ward for the Best Special Theatrical Event, it has won the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience.
The show is the brainchild of the famous clown known as ‘Slava’, a legendary figure in Russia who has had a long career trailblazing the role of the clown in our contemporary theatrical landscape. The founder of the famous Academy of Fools’, Slava has a unique approach to teaching and performing that makes his troupe’s style of performance something very special indeed. He has become an internationally recognised figure, winning such awards as the Gold Angle, the Gold Nose and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.
The event itself, ‘Slava’s Snowshow’, is typical of his output. There is no actually story or narrative, but from the way he constructs the various elements it becomes a touching commentary on the human condition. Slava himself is one of the main attractions, and his mastery of the craft of mime and clowning is really something that must be experienced first hand. Alongside the traditional methods of performance, the show utilises state of the art stage designs which wrap the audience with cobwebs, blast them with a snowstorm, and envelop the theatre in fog.
