Synopsis

Another comedian brings his popular Edinburgh show to the West End, where it is likely to match the success it felt in the Scottish capital in the summer of 2009. Whilst the likes of Dylan Moran, Ed Byrne and Rob Brydon have all staged shows in the capital in the last year, it is now time for Marcus Brigstocke to bring his acclaimed show “God Collar” to the Vaudeville Theatre.

With a brief run taking place in February, “Marcus Brigstocke: God Collar” will prove to be a popular draw for comedy fans across the capital. He is regularly hailed as an intelligent and thought-provoking comic with a unique voice on the British comedy scene. As a result, expect an unbeatable and laugh-out-loud show.

With God Collar, Brigstocke brings us a production that demonstrates a new outlook on atheism; one that does not concern itself with mocking believers of religion and deriding the discipline itself. Instead, expect a thought-provoking show brilliantly summed up by Brigstocke in the press material when he says “There’s probably no God. But I wish there was. I’ve got some things I need to ask him”.

Marcus Brigstocke is a comedian who has appeared in a wide range of television and radio shows. Between stand up gigs he can often be seen on the likes of “Argumental”, “Live at the Apollo”, “Have I Got News For You”, “Qi” “The 11 O’Clock Show” and “I’ve Never Seen Star Wars”. The latter was produced both for television audiences and for Radio 4 audiences where he is a regularly heard on shows such as “The Now Show”, “The Code of the Woosters” and more. He even hosted “The Late Edition”, which was an attempt at recreating the popularity of the US satirical show “The Daily Show with John Stewart”.

But as a comedian, Brigstocke is best known for his well loved stand up shows, which include his sell-out 2009 National tour of “God Collar” as well as appearances in comedy clubs across the country. He regularly appears in shows at the annual Edinburgh Festival Fringe and is likely to remain a big player in the world of comedy for many years to come.

“Marcus Brigstocke: God Collar” is at the Vaudeville Theatre from Thursday 4th February 2010 to Thursday 11th February 2010.
