It will be an opportunity to witness celebrities take to the ice live in front of your eyes as they compete in front of a panel of judges to discover the true winners of the show. It means that high scores will be on their minds as they arrive under the dome of the O2 to compete in a format the mirrors the popular ITV television show.
“Dancing on Ice” is a series in which celebrities pair up with ice-skating experts to put on routines and wow the judges, hoping to stay in the competition and make their way to the final. The show is enormously popular as audience members become glued to their screens, watching in anticipation to discover if their favourite star will soar majestically or tumble clumsily. It is a format that has stuck gold with viewers and with the live show, this is no different.
2010 is the fourth year the live version has taken place and it is also 26 years since Torvill & Dean wowed sporting viewers with a spellbinding routine at the 1984 Winter Olympics. Since that date the duo has had many ups and downs, going professional after the competition and working hard to train the stars of tomorrow. They have certainly come a long way since they were encouraged by a Nottingham coach to work together in the 1970s, going on to achieve Olympic Gold and winning over the hearts of millions. Now with “Dancing on Ice” they have returned to our screens and with the live show they will be displaying a number of routines in front of an adoring crowd.
The O2 is a wonderful location to witness “Dancing on Ice”. Formerly the Millennium Dome, the complex now features a number of facilities including the large O2 Arena, one of the best arenas in the country. During its relatively short history it has featured some of the biggest names in music and comedy take to its stage and present unbeatable shows with a spellbinding atmosphere.
“Dancing on Ice” is at the O2 Arena from Friday 16th April 2010 to Tuesday 20th April 2010.
