All The Fun Of The Fair Tickets

After appearing in venues across the country in 2009, including the New Wimbledon Theatre earlier in the year, David Essex returns to London to showcase his musical extravaganza “All the Fun of the Fair” at the Garrick Theatre.

It is a show that combines Essex’s songs from his debut album of the same name with a fun and compelling story that will undoubtedly leave audiences with a smile on their face.

When it appears at the Garrick Theatre in 2010 it will be the longest stint for the show so far, with a five-month residency at the West End theatre that is sure to prove popular with audiences arriving in the capital.

“All the Fun of the Fair” is a story that focuses on Essex’s character of Levi Lee, a widower and fairground worker who struggles to raise his son in a hectic environment whilst perils in the present and future threaten to bring him down. His son is already going through the teenage rebellion stage of his life when the show opens, but pretty soon Levi will have plenty more on his plate as a recently divorced woman begins to shower him with unwanted affection. So he must handle her advances appropriately whilst also helping his son through his own love life at the same time.

These present dangers are enough to deal with on their own, but a trip to a gypsy fortune teller leads to the knowledge of further dangers lurking ahead of him in the future. If he cannot deal with the problems going on in the present day, how is he going to deal with those looming over the horizon?

The story is amplified by Essex’s songs from the album “All the Fun of the Fair”, including “Winter’s Tale”, “Gonna Make You A Star”, “Hold Me lose”, “Me and My Girl Nightclubbing”, “Rock On” and “Silver Dream Machine”.

Essex has enjoyed a long career as a singer and performer, with various musical credits to his name like “Boogie Nights 2”, “Evita”, “Aspects of Love” at a production of “Footloose” at the Novello Theatre. Throughout the 70s and 80s he was a well known singer whilst today he is better known for his roles in movies like “Stardust”.

“All the Fun of the Fair” is at the Garrick Theatre where it is currently booking from Wednesday 28th April 2010 (previews from Saturday 17th April 2010) to Sunday 5th September 2010.
