Synopsis

The “Strictly Come Dancing” phenomenon returns in 2009 with the seventh series of the popular show, which can only mean one thing – a brand new live tour!

2010 sees the stars of “Strictly Come Dancing” take to the roads once more giving live audiences the opportunity witness their performing talents in person, with the judges on hand to dish out advice.

The format appears to get more and more popular with each passing year, attracting ever more fans, who are glued to their television screens every week in anticipation of the events unfolding. “Strictly Come Dancing” has enjoyed monumental success as a result, allowing the BBC to sell the format abroad and making the “Dancing With The Stars” brand a popular draw around the world.

The show features celebrity dancers performing alongside seasoned professionals, learning the tricks of the trade from the best. Every week Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly present the proceedings as they trot through dances such as the Mambo or the Tango and try to win over the judges such as Len Goodman, Alesha Dixon, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli. Each week one pairing must leave the show and by the end of the series a brand new winner is crowned.

It is an idea that transfers easily to the live setting, as celebrity stars from new and old series appear alongside the world class dance professionals, once again trying to win the votes of not only the judges, but those in the audience. 2009 saw stars such as Tom Chambers and Rachel Steven alongside the like of Gethin Jones, Jodie Kidd, Julian Clarey and Jill Halfpenny, with judges Arlene Phillips, Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli all on hand to dish out criticisms. For the first forty five minutes, the crowd watched the dances take place, before an interval gave them ample time to cast their votes for the winner. It led to a second half in which the group dance and the professional dance took place, before making way for the announcement everyone had been waiting for – the winner!

So if you’re a fan of the show or simply wish to witness a dance spectacular, then head for the glitz and glamour of “Strictly Come Dancing Live 2010”, which appears at Manchester’s MEN Arena from Friday 15th January 2010 to Sunday 17th January 2010.
