Synopsis

Coming to the Coliseum in July, Chun Yi: The Legend of Kung Fu will be bringing all of the heart stopping spectacle, which has made it so popular in Beijing, to London.

Many will be familiar with some aspects of the show after it was staged at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, so when it arrives at the home of the 2012 Olympic Games it is likely to draw huge crowds. It has been praised for its unique blending of acrobatics and martial arts, which provide audiences with an exciting ride.

It tells the story of a young boy called Chun Yi, who embarks on an epic journey to discover enlightenment. However, this will be no easy task and to complete it he must take part in a series of trials that will test him thoroughly. His aim is to succeed in these trials so that he can hold his head up high as he is crowned Chun Yi – The Pure One. It is an epic show, and its mix of amazing spectacle and compelling story has made it a blockbusting smash hit, having been seen by millions of people all over the world.

It is in these international locations that critics have been propelling the show onwards, with praise coming from all quarters. It will arrive in London for only twenty seven performances, meaning that there is only a limited amount of time to witness this show and discover what makes it so great.

It was created by ‘China Heaven’ back in 2004 and its success was almost immediate, with regular daily performances taking playing in Beijing’s Red Theatre since 2006. It means that its creators have never had any need to look back, as it has transcended the barriers between the East and the West as it wowed audiences in the US from 2006 onwards.

So whether you are a fan of Kung Fu and great story telling this will be a must see show, whilst many will be striving to see the spectacle that was seen on television screens across the world in the 2008 Olympics.

Chun Yi: The Legend of Kung Fu is at the London Coliseum from Wednesday 29th July 2009 to Sunday 16th August 2009
