Next August under the roof of the mighty Wembley Arena you will be taken back in time as the Walking With Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular world tour finds its way to the nation’s capital. The hit television show from the BBC has been given a new lease of life in arenas across the globe, so you will be transported 65 million years back in time next August, with 2009 safely locked away outside. Variety says that the dinosaurs and effects are “stunning and faultlessly nimble” whilst Newsweek adds that it is “that rare entertainment beast that parents and kids can enjoy together”.
World class designers who are internationally renowned have worked hard to bring all 15 of the huge dinosaurs to life, working with top scientists to create the most accurate experience possible. Watch gob smacked as favourites like T Rex dwarf the arena setting and give you a new perspective on the prehistoric way of life. It is sure to leave the young and old speechless. The return of dinosaurs that were wiped out millions of years ago should not be missed. Make sure you have your tickets so you can catch this amazing phenomenon.
The show boasts an epic cast that includes the mighty allosaurus, the ancient taurosaurus, the great utahraptor and of course the most famous dinosaur of them all the 20ft tall Tyrannosaurus Rex. With creator and producer of the TV series Tim Haines helping with the spectacle, it will be the closest you can come to seeing dinosaurs return to their home on Earth.
Walking With Dinosaurs is of course the stage version of the successful television show of the same name. The BBC show first aired in the United Kingdom in 1999 with narration from none other than Kenneth Branagh. With CGI effects it was able to bring life to the world of the dinosaurs and produce a nature documentary on these ancient beasts. With palaeontologists on hand to advise them the show became a huge success. It also managed to be the most expensive documentary series made (per minute) according to the Guinness Book Of Records. Now, no expense is being spared as it moves to the live audience setting.
With the glorious setting of the Wembley Arena, this is not one to be missed.
